L'osservatorio astronomico TT1 sul monte Toppo, con la cupola del telescopio

Description

The idea of building an observatory dates back to 1965: after studying the clarity of the sky, Mount Toppo in Castelgrande was chosen. In 1973 a temporary observatory was built in collaboration with the Capodimonte Observatory in Naples. Between 1989 and 1993 it was equipped with a 1.56 m reflecting telescope, among the largest in Italy. Today the observatory has been renovated with outreach and educational activities alongside its scientific work.
